The Roman
Alcester Electronic Catalogue allows you to
search over 1,300 archaeological finds associated with the
town of Alcester. All the objects are cared for by the Warwickshire
Museum.
To search
the catalogue simply select an "Object Type" from
the drop-down list and click the "search" button.
Your objects will be listed on one or more pages of results.
Click the object thumbnail to see a full description. Only
about 40% of the objects currently have an image. If you
only want to see these, remember to click the "only
show objects with images" box when starting your search.
Too
many results ? You can also select a "Date Period"
and/or "Material" to narrow down your results.
Alternatively, try adding a short text phrase - e.g. "horse"
- to look for something specific. If necessary, you may
combine all search options at the same time. If you want
to contact staff at the museum about an object, please quote
the unique catalogue number (e.g. WARMS : A11317) shown
in your results.
You can also view a "slideshow" where images are
shown in random order - a great way to browse the objects
!
